The artist behind Prizim, Matt Scheer, lives in Cincinnati, Ohio where he has earned a degree in the field of Graphic Design at the University of Cincinnati. Through the pursuance of this degree, he was introduced to the fine art of Marker Rendering, sparking the flame that became Prizim.
It is apparent that the artwork on this site is inspired by icons in the music scene, but an equally underlying inspiration for the style of art comes from the work of contemporary artists Shepard Fairey, and Banksy. Both of these inspirational artists are driven by the desire to create a social revolution with their art, a value that Prizim shares with them.
Prizim gets its name from the functionality of a crystal triangular light prism, recognizeable on the famous Pink Floyd album cover for 'Dark Side of the Moon'. Much like a light prism, Prizim takes a plain, white substrate and transforms it into a vibrant spectrum of color.
